  1. Air temperature is the temperature at which the water remains in its gaseous state(in the form of water vapour) whereas dew point temperature is the temperature at which water vapour condenses and becomes water droplets(liquid form).

So if the air is saturated, the air temperature becomes dew point temperature, otherwise the air temperature will always be more than dew point temperature(ie,when the air is unsaturated).

If the air temperature increases,it can hold more moisture and if by some means the moisture is added to the air, the dew point temperature may also increase.

If the air temperature increases without addition of any moisture, the dew point temperature will remain the same and the air becomes more unsaturated.

  2. this is a direct realattionship.

well everytime you rise in altitude 1km the dewpoint temperature decreases 2 degrees celcius. Air temperature decreases 10 degrees celcius every km.

So at ground level it can change but when the dew point and air temperature are equal you get rain(=

  3. Dewpoint is usually lower than air temperature at ground level.  As you go up in the air, the air temperature falls until it reaches dewpoint. At that point you get into the clouds, because the air is now too cool to hold all its moisture so it comes out as droplets of water.

When the air temperature on the ground is lower than dewpoint, then you have fog, which is really just a cloud on the ground.

  4. Except for some really rare circumstances, dew point is lower or the same as air temperature.  After all, condensation would reduce the moistire content of the air at or below dew point.
