  3. England is Roman Catholicism regardless of presentations.

  4. Queen Elizabeth I was a Conservative Protestant. She was raised and educated as a Protestant, and the Religious Settlement of 1559 made Elizabeth Supreme Head of the Church. However, she did not give any clear indication as to the direction of her Church and many of the clergy maintained altars and images and they refused to destroy any equipment needed for Mass. Her formula was simple – if the Catholics were loyal to the Queen and discreet in their worship, she would tolerate them.

As a wise leader, she established Protestantism as the country's religion, and showed tolerance towards Catholicism as well. Queen Elizabeth adopted a moderate religious policy. The Acts of Supremacy and Uniformity (1559), the introduction of the Prayer Book of 1559, and the Thirty-Nine Articles (1563) were all Protestant in doctrine, but preserved many traditionally Catholic ceremonies. Although a Protestant she did not persecute Catholics with conviction - she adopted a moderate approach.

  6. She was protestant.

  7. Hello,

She would hve to have been the Church Of England or Anglican Church in that one of her titles, Defender Of The Faith meant the Anglican Church though she made this church which operated like the Roman Catholic, a protestant denomination.

    Cheers,

    Michael Kelly.

  8. She was a Protestant.  She could not, of course, remember her mother, Anne Boleyn, but Anne Boleyn became a convinced Protestant in France and had a great effect on Henry VIII, persuading him to permit Bibles in the English language. Anne also introduced Henry to the books of Protestant writers such as William Tyndale. Elizabeth I, succeeding her Roman Catholic sister Mary, who had burned Protestants at the stake, was considered enough of a menace to the Church of Rome to be excommunicated. http://chi.gospelcom.net/DAILYF/2002/04/...

The Anglican Book of Common Prayer had been introduced by her brother Edward VI and her amended version tended more towards Catholicism. http://mb-soft.com/believe/txw/commonpr....

  9. she was christan

  10. She was protestant and her sister Mary Queen of Scots (who became Queen of scots after being banished to Scotland for opposing her) was catholic and they fought over which religion England would be. Elizabeth had her put in a tower and beheaded later so i don't think she was all that religous to have something like that done, they just liked a good fight like all sisters do? :D
