  1. All religions do. But it depends on the culture mostly. Not religion. Japan and China and Korea still have arranged marriages and many are Catholics/Christians or Bhuddist. It's apart of tradition. Where America has a lot of religions, arranged marriage is basically something from the Middle Ages. So it depends on culture. Not religion. Islam is very particular though when it comes to marriage. Muslims will kill a girl if she doesn't marry their choice of husband. Research Justice for Jassy.

  2. Islam.

  3. more a cultural thing than a religios thing... look at pretty much any country in the "middle east"  many cultures still practice it.  there was a news article about some father who killed his daughter in Georgia  (the state) because she left her arranged marriage husband.

  4. India- Christians and sihks and muslims and hindus hold onto this yes.

West - hindus and muslims and sihks.

Other Eastern - hindus and muslims and sihks.

  5. arranged marriages arent about religion so much so as culture. Every religion has practitioners who believe, or had believed at one point, in arranged marriage

Arranged marriages were not uncommon among christian people up until about the 1700's, especially in the upper classes. Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs all supported arranged marriage at at least one point in their histories.

  6. islam

  7. Uh - from my point of view - I think it's more to do with culture than religion. :)

In India there is an overdose of arranged marriages and it's not limited to any religion.

Christians, Muslim, Hindus, etc... Most Indians as such have arranged marriages.

A non-arranged marriage or a 'love marriage' happens - but - rarely. It's not that it's frowned upon - just that it used to be a cultural shock - but now not so much - it's starting to become relatively common - if not not very. The idea of arranged marriages is starting to become outdated - however, the traditionalist Indian parents still prefer arranged marriages.

  8. islaam...a mater of a fact, i've got 2 wives & they both were sort of arranged.

  9. Islam, sometimes.

  10. arranged marriages are a cultural issue not a religious ones

arranged marriages are allowed in Islam but not compulsory

    forced marriages are forbidden

  11. i guess hindus, muslims, sikhs, buddhists all make arranged marriages...as a matter of fact most christians in india that i know of also have arranged marriages
