What resources, if any are there for American Spouses of Non-American Spouses?

I am an American Citizen and I am married to a Filipino Citizen and at the moment I am living in the US and he is living in the Philippines. I know all about filing for the Form I-130 (spousal visa) along with the correct procedures for doing so, so that is not what my questions is about.

But what I am curious about is ... what kind, if any, of resources are available and open to the American Spouse of a Non-American Spouse?

Also allow me to stress the fact that I am NOT looking to go on governmental welfare of any kind. I just didn't know if there were other resources available to the American Spouse until the Non-American Spouse has their Visa approved, in hand and on their way to the United States.
