What responsibilities of citizens are implied by the right to equal protection under the law?

Any ideas? I was thinking it is a citizen's responsibility to assure their educational opportunities as well as job opportunities.

It is your responsibility to yourself first to take advantage of any and all educational and economic opportunities that may come your way. By doing so you benefit society, but that does not make you a good and responsibe citizen. The responsibilities of citizenship are simple. Obey the law, serve on juries when and if called, get informed on the issues (and try to do it from ALL perspectives - modern liberal through conservative) and all of the various candidates positions before you vote. And finally... VOTE!

People similarly situated must have similar rights and treatment under the law.  Thus, those with higher income must have higher tax rates.
