Well, in all honesty, it depends on what you really like and where you live.  I love the Cheesecake factory.  The food is great, the drinks are great and of course the desserts are phenomenal!  But if you really want something different, don't go to a chain.  Go somewhere quaint or somewhere unique.

What state are you in?  A chain I would recommend would be either PF Changs, or Elephant bar.

If you are in the los angeles area,  then you have to go to Ed Debevic's (sp?)

Something Chinese or Italian. Don't go to a franchise, they are all alike. Something oriental or Italian is likely to be owned by a family, and they will treat you better. The food will tast better as well.

i go to chilis with all my friends for their bdays... it's a lot of fun cause the food is really good & if you tell your waiter/waitress that it's one of your friend's birthdays they will bring out a little cake and sing happy birthday (for free!) lol it's hilarious!
