  1. Appleby's.. they have a weight watchers menu.

  2. When I celebrate, I'll go to Applebees.  They have a low calorie section on the menu for Weight Watchers, but it works for normal diets too.

However, you could order the steak and get the veggies instead of the potato.  I've done that too!

  3. I think Ruby Tuesday is a good choice they have a great salad bar.

  4. Your best bet will be to do a little research.  A lot of restaurants offer healthy options right now, and even better, a lot of them have some nutritional information online.

It depends on what type of mood you're in, but here are a few options:

Applebees.  They actually have a Weight Watchers specific menu.  All of these dinners are preportioned and taste great.  Unfortunatley, they only list the "points" value, so you won't be able to get nutritional information, but they are all pretty good for you.

Fridays.  Fridays has a new menu that offers reduced calorie options.  I love the dragonfire chicken.

Ruby Tuesdays:  They offer a "lighter" menu, although when you look at the nutritional information, you'll realize their version of "light" is not most people's version of "light"

Red Lobster:  This is a great option.  Fish is so good for you and they too offer healthier options.

Olive Garden:  This isn't so much low-carb, but if you're doing atkins they it would depend on which phase you are in.  Or, you could always order their never ending soup and salad.  Little known fact, olive garden offers a reduced fat Italian dressing, so you can order this on the side.

Another good option is your neighborhood steak house.  Just be sure to order a lean piece of meat (I love fillets) and make sure to order it with NO butter and grilled.  Sad but true, a lot of steak houses will put butter on the steak after it is grilled so it has a nice shine.  Order this with a side of steamed veggies (skip the butter of course) and a glass of wine and you won't even feel like you're eating right.

The best advice I can give you is plan ahead.  Decide what kind of food you want and research your best option.  Hopefully I've given you a wide enough assortment.

Most importantly, have a great birthday!

  5. sweet tomatoes!!

or a salad bar.... ruby tuesdays is good

    ACTUALLY

any restaurant...just order a salad with the dressing on the side!!

Italian or balsamic..  not ranch!! :)

  6. If you go online to Ruby Tuesday's and Chili's websites, I believe they have nutritional info.  I'm not sure if they have it on their menus anymore.

Anyplace that has a section for healthier choices should be fine.  They usually give it names like "the lighter side" or something with that idea.

Cracker Barrel is probably not your best choice.  The other two you mentioned will have more options for you.  Beware of salads in restaurants.  They can be as bad as the main entrees.  If it's loaded with cheese and meat - or fried meat, you may as well just have that basket of fries.  Not to mention the dressings.

I'm not sure where to suggest since I don't know what's around you, but just choose things that are steamed or grilled without heavy sauces.  Choose the green veggies over the potato.  Think about what's around you and see if they have the menu online to compare.  And you don't have to skip your birthday dessert.  Get fruit that's been dressed up a bit or meringue.  Meringue is egg whites and does not contain a lot of sugar so it is a way to have your sweet and still be healthier.  If the restaurant you want doesn't have any suitable desserts, just eat dessert somewhere else.

  7. I think Ruby Tuesday's is the best, they have an awesome salad bar that has a variety.

  8. well go out of town and try some diffrent salads

  9. One of the biggest downfalls to any dieter is when they don't allow themselves to splurge once in awhile. Even if it's just a piece of candy once a week or eating something a little fattening on special days. Still if you are serious about maintaining your diet you can still go to any restaurant you want and order what you are willing to eat. I had a vegetarian friend who could order items at Outback Steakhouse; if she could do it so can you.

First you need to stay away from the meals. If you don't want the hamburger and fries then order a la carte items, like steamed veggies (no butter)  If you want the meal ask if you can replace items like fries with salad. And order lean proteins like chicken or fish, and if they come with sauce be sure to tell them you don't want any sauce on your plate.

At Chili's they have the "guiltless" section at the back of the menu full of low calorie items and even desserts. At Ruby Tuesday you can hit the salad bar, and at Cracker Barrel you can order their low carb options like the grilled chicken tenderloin or chicken salad. Be aware of dressings though and any extras they put on salads like bacon or cheese. Just ask to have it made without it.

And you don't have to eat everything on your plate, you can always box it up and bring it home.

All of these places though have menus online and a lot of them have nutritional information placed next to them.

    By the way, happy birthday!!
