Question:

What restaurants in NYC can I eat with my hands?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good restaurant that I can try where it's very ethnic and I can eat with my hands in NYC, just like in the movie "Along Came Polly" when Jennifer Aniston takes Ben Stiller to that Moroccan restaurant. After trying Massawa uptown (I live in Greenwich village), I'm hooked to trying ethnic eat-with-your-hands kind of foods. I hope someone can help!

  1. Try any Indian restaurant in NYC - they will serve you utensils because they are catering to the neighborhood - however, if you look around the Indian customers will use their hands.

  2. Ethiopian restaurants don't serve utensils;  you scoop your food up with "bread".  If you are downtown, try Ghenet on Mulberry and Houston;  uptown, go to Awash on Amsterdam and 106th - they also have  a branch in the East Village on East 6th Street and First Avenue.

  3. Pizza- Its ethnic and you can eat with your hands

  4. Any Indian, Moroccan, or Arabic restaurant
