We are visiting NYC from the UK later this year. Each time we have visited the USA we have loved the Cheesecake Factory chain of restaurants. According to their website there isn't one located on or particularly near to Manhattan. Can you recommend any restaurants which offer similar wide variety for reasonable price?

  1. I was in NYC recently and had dinner at Juniors....I would suggest going there for great cheesecake!!!

  2. Junior's - it's the NY authentic 'cheesecke factory'

    check out the locations:

  3. Junior's Cheesecake

  4. Try Serendipity on the upper east side. Their food isn't the best in the city but their frozen hot chocolates were made famous by the movie Serendipity!

  5. You might love Cheesecake Factory, but I would suggest experiencing New York and all the great ethnic places to visit.

Try Katz Deli on Houston Street in the lower east side, Dominicks for great family style Italian food, Balthazar for shellfish and steaks, Spice Market for great fusion food, Jo Jo for romantic french food....

I could go on and on. Most places are reasonable if you just have an entree or even salad and an appetizer.

    Good luck! Have fun!

  6. If you are going to NYC, don't waste time with going to some chain you can go to anywhere else in the country...

Go to Sylvia's for Soul Food in Harlem; or Carmine's for Italian food in Times Square or the UWS; Hop Kee or Wo Hop for chinese food in Chinatown...

You can go to Tom's Diner on the UWS and see the "Seinfeld" diner, or hit any one of a thousand incredible eateries the city has to offer. Enjoy and bring an appetite!
