  1. Texture-wise, no difference.  They should have a nice homey flavor, though.


  2. Very little.

  3. Your dumplings might fall apart, particularly if they are drop dumplings. Flat dumplings might work better with the substitution, but I wouldn't try it.  

  4. your a brave soul making dumplings from scratch. i always use bisquick.
