I'm trying to get my first job in a law firm doing administrative work. Since I don't already have law firm experience, I'm finding it difficult to even get an interview. Any suggestions on ways to make my resume stand out? I have good skills. Thanks for the help!

  1. Using a functional resume rather than a chronological resume is the way to go. If you highlight your skills rather than your work history you'll be able to get more interviews. If you'd like my services, please visit my website: http://www.abaediting.com

  2. Is there a particular reason why you want to work in a law firm? let me tell you it's not the most happy place to be. Lawyers have a superiority complex and are rarely pleasant. If you really want to work in that environment you will have to update your skills and take a legal secretarial course. I don't think any Law Offices would want to hire someone who has no knowledge at all on how to type an affidavit.
