What retail stores take American Express?? Do you have a link with a list of the stores?

I have American Express gift cards and they are very unpopular it seems. I wanted to use them at the grocery and they do not take them. I would like a link or website that provides a list of retailers. I have been searching today with No Luck. Thank you in advance. L

Wal-Mart and Target take them. Check out the yahoo link for a possible reason why your card is not being accepted.
