  1. It is legal to for employers to give many different types of personality tests just as it is legal to run a credit check on potential employees. Most personality test results would not be understandable by the general public so there wouldn't be any benefit to your seeing the results. Loss prevention (employee theft) and the ability to get along with others are usually the primary concerns of employers.

I don't know but I had to take a personality test for a jewelry company back in the 90's and I didn't think anything of it at the time except that it was stupid and that it was incredibly dumb.  In the early 80's we took polygraphs before working with jewelry, but they were outlawed.  However just found this information:
