What right does an officer have to give u a violation?

well i wasn't in the vehicle but was walking away from it was close and i was out of it and infront of the vehicle in the state of ILL

  1. It would depend on the situation and the rest of the story because to me it sounds like you left out something....


  2. A police officer can give you a ticket for anything they want to. A ticket is not a conviction or an admission of guilt. All it is, is a piece of paper saying you can admit guilt by paying it or you can go to court and plead your case. As unfair as it is. a cop can ticket you anytime for anything, without the slightest bit of proof or even probable cause.
