What rights do men have concerning unwanted pregnancies in Queensland Australia?

i have a freind who was seeing a girl for a few months and was getting ready to break up with. While they were together she told him that she was on the pill but it seems that she was lying to him and is now pregnant. Neither he nor her are really ready to be parents either financially or emotionally and he feels trapped by her actions. What I need to know is what legal avenues does he have to protect himself if any? Surely in cases like this their must be rights for the man as well as the woman

  1. Once the baby is born he can sign a document declaring he no longer has any parental rights to the child.  But- the real question is-why was your friend not protecting himself in the first place.  It's called a condom - it not only prevents unwanted pregnancies but STD's as well.

  2. They could always give up the baby for adoption. he will have to pay child support if she keeps it.

  3. HAHA good luck, once she proves that hes the daddy he is going to have to pay child support even tho he does not want to.

  4. tough titties!  if you are grown up enough to do the deed, your grown up enough to pay the price.

if he's gonna be a daddy he best start getting a real job and a grip on his new reality.

    serves em both right!
