  1. The Nile river in Egypt flows from south to north.  It empties into th Mediterranean Sea.


  2. Rivers do not flow uphill (gravity pulls all things downhill--rivers included), but some rivers do run South to North, which is unusual. The Nile River flows South to North, and the Monongahela River in Pittsburgh, PA flows South to North (where it meets the Allegheny River and creates the Ohio River, which runs to the Mississippi River which empties into the Gulf of Mexico.  The Mississippi River does not flow South to North).
