The road leading one back.  This is because that road has already been traveled and there are no surprises, twists, or turns.  Re-visiting the same mileposts could be arduous based on the return road traveled.  The road leading you is full of surprises, most of which cannot be predicted.  And we also don't know where the road leading us ends, so every leading road appears infinite while traveling it.

Well,  that depends on the purpose of the journey!

When I'm excited to reach somewhere the road seems endless because my mind is already there and the body seems crawling.  I get impatient.  Then coming back seems equally tortuous.

And when I don't want to face something I kind of think of thousands things to stop me,  but ultimately I find myself there and it seems too quick...like so soon?  I'm not prepared yet!

I think now on I'll take a circular road!
