I'm watching disc 1 of RAW 15th Anniversary. It's seems he was managing Vader.

In the WWF, he was simply an on air heel manager. He also dabbled in doing commentary on Monday Night Raw for a while in the mid 90s. When he was removed from WWE TV, he served as a booker in OVW, WWE's farm system.

His main role in the company was as a manager. He used to manage Vader at first, then gained Owen Hart & The British Bulldog which formed Camp Cornette. He may have managed other wrestlers along the way but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head.

When his own promotion SMW failed he signed with WWE and had a brief stable with Vader, Owen Hart, and The British Bulldog.

After that he was a trainer with OVW for a couple of years until he slapped Santino Marella for breaking kayfabe over Boogeyman's entrance. WWE fired him right away. He went to TNA and the rest is history as they say..
