Most minorities are in the media as a center of the story. Not always bad and it's not always good.. But there are many minorities in the field of journalism. More than you think.

In newspapers, there probably aren't enough minorities involved in the news gathering operation. They are under-represented, compared to the population as a whole. It would be nice to have that voice in the newsroom, because everyone brings their own personal experiences into their work every day, and diversity is valuable.

Television is probably better in that sense -- seems more attractive to potential job applicants.
