What is Frances role in the big picture. If something of political or military concern goes down around europe. Who steps up to the plate with troops or negotiations, given of course that the USA doesnt want to touch "it".

No anti-french b.s. comments please

  1. As far as i can feel it from my windows, new president Nicolas SARKOZY is trying to push France closer to the Nato scene.

At the moment, France leads the presidence of European Council for 6 months and M; Sarkozy will try to boost up European Union to grow up, be more united, more powerfull to whistand future storms linked to terrorism, battle for raw material, "awakening" of "new" power (i mean nations that have a power linked to petrol or raw material...)

If something goes down around Europe, i mean something very serious close to Europe, I believe that every European nation is ready to pump up the volume !

I believe that Nicolas Sarkozy is the kind of guy who is able to take strong decision, share it with other Euopean allies to start up a joint venture and make the job.

I believe that coming years will be touchy due to worldwide order moving, that's why European union (France alone is not so big, only for sometime being a lesson giver :-))) has to grow and be united to have a critical size (of power).
