What role will Darren Haydar have in the Red Wings organization next season ?

AHL. He'll be playing with the Grand Rapids team.

Ken Holland told 'The FAN' in Toronto that Haydar will be a potential 3rd liner in Detroit, or a possible 4th liner.  The contract pays $525K if he plays in the NHL, or $225K if he plays in Grand Rapids, which Holland said would make Haydar a 'very expensive' AHLer.

He's never had much success at the NHL level to date, so I'm skeptical that he'll play in Detroit.  Excellent skills, but a bit small and slow.
