  1. By mid May, the Essendon board will be begging for Sheedy to come back. He won't. Matty Knights will be sacked during the season and Essendon will have to look for somebody else.

I think Sheedy will coach again, just not sure where. Richmond will be calling, but will he answer his former side? I don't know.

Sheedy needs to take over as CEO of the AFL from Andrew the Rocket Scientist idiot. Maybe then we can get footy on television here in America--on a channel we can see, not the rumor of Setanta North America.

  2. With all due respects to a coach who did it his way, I reckon that being a proper family man would pay his family back for all the years that he he wasn't on home base.

Go on Sheeds, do the right thing, and leave the coaching to the younger guys, you had your day in the sun

  3. I think the only role he will take is Guest Commentary, now and then..for this year anyway.

  4. I can't see Kevin Sheedy being involved in coaching with any AFL side - ever again. Modern coaching methods & player management has passed him by.

Because he was always promoting himself to the media, during the past couple of years, I think he will only be considered for a game promotional role of some type - whether it be with the AFL or an AFL (Melbourne based) team. His recognizable face & ready mouth is about all he has going for himself nowadays.

  5. I can't see him being involved in coaching within the AFL. Not because he doesn't want to - it is because no-one wants him now.

He loves the limelight so much he will bob up somewhere - that is for sure (even if he does not get paid for what he does!).

  6. Most likely do a bit of special guest commentary and some other work giving his opinion. Will play a role like what Michael Voss did last year, and what Wayne Carey, Jason Dunstall and Dermott Brereton.

He could also play a role as an AFL ambassador to promote such events as the 'grassroots footy' was promoted this season. His familiar face is now like a trademark to the AFL and would be a shame to let that sort of ability fall away.

  7. The AFL should employ him to promote the game. He has been one of the best promoters the game has ever had.

GFC - I agree, they could do a lot worse then having him running the show.

  8. I can see him coming to WA to  be a mentor to Mark Harvey and the Dockers lets face it he likes a challenge.
