  1. For the most part, the only two tight ends worth taking in the 5th round are Jason Witten and Antonio Gates. Personally, I wouldn't draft Gates because he might not even start the season due to injury.

Winslow, Gonzalez, Clark, and Cooley can be picked in the 7th and 8th rounds.

  2. If you can land Witten or Winslow around the 6th round I would jump all over that. At that point in the dradt they are most definitely a better option than any available WR. They are very capable of getting you 12-14 points/week especially in  PPR league

    Good Luck

  3. Get Shockey in the late rounds.

  4. It definately depends on the scoring of your league.  In my league TEs only score points for TDs or 100+ yd games so someone like Ben Watson in the late rounds would fare just as well as someone like Todd Heap who goes 5 to 8 rounds earlier.  Check out the scoring of your league and base your decisions on that

  5. i wouldnt go out of your way to get one of the top 5. i would wait to pick up one of the sleepers. Scheffler, Davis, Daniels, Heap, etc. maybe round 10 ish...

  6. It depends on the scoring. Our league get 7pts TD for a TE, 6 for WR and 5 for a RB, and 4 points for a passing TD.  We try to make the scoring more level for each position.  Also you get more points for yardage with a TE, yardage breaks down like TD's.  Your top 2 TE (Gates, Whitten) will go in late round 3 to early round 4.  Then Winslow and Gonzo will go late 4 to middle 5th round.  Then Clark, Cooley, Shockey will go in the middle of the 6th round.  After those players are gone the soonest you will see a TE is in round 9.

I am in my 18th year in this league.
