I'm 16 years old and i played winger last year. However, i was not the happiest in that position and i felt i could do more elsewhere. i am one of the fastest kids in my grade and i can lift 75 pounds barbell, not bench press machine. i'm 5'8 and 140 pounds. i am leaning a bit toward outside flanker as i like to tackle a lot and i like to move around alot too. Please give me your input.

  1. depends on whether your speed or strength is better compared to your teammates and where your team needs better players, ask ur coach about his opinion

  2. flanker would be a good position for you. if you have good hands and passing then I`d also say center. That`s where I play. You`re pretty much in the center of all the action. You have to be able to tackle really well, have good hands for passes and plays and be able to find the open holes and run. Center is also good for running because lots of space opens up on the center when the ball moves out to the sides and if the ball can get back to the center fast enough then you can do some major damage!

  3. yea i would agree with you saying about flanker, i think though if you are fast you should try centre , probaly inside centre. Here you will get alot of the ball also. And im a back myself so obviously i think back are better than fowards :)

  4. Have a go at openside flanker if you like running a lot and tackling. If you are one of the tallest in your team have a go at lock, jumping in lineouts and in the scrum. If you like tackling as much as you say, even try inside centre if you have got good ball skills and like running the ball up during the game.
