What safety features did old-fashioned cars have?

I'm doing physics research, and if I can't answer this question, my GCSE grade goes down. Please help!

 Before computerized diagnostics,automobiles  and the era of air bags, anti-lock brakes and cars had rather relatively few safety features.

In the 1910s, the O'Leary Fender was the first car safety gadget that was introduced to prevent the deaths caused by accidents. But it failed in practice.

Another car safety devices that was greatly adopted was the automobile bumper which, by fixing a flexible metal bumper, a car and its occupants could be spared the full extent of the force generated in a collision.

Safety Glass, a glass coated with a plastic substance to prevent it from shattering even when it breaks also came in invention in the early 1900s.

 Classic cars most of the time lacked in basic safety features, such as seat belts, crumple zones or rollover  protection. Vehicle handling characteristics (particularly steering and suspension) and brake performance were  poorer as compared to the modern standards, hence the driver was supposed to have greater road safety awareness. Therefore in some  parts of the US, using a classic car as a daily vehicle is strongly discouraged and in some places even not allowed.
