not in california =( Usually a day laborer job. Besides if you fall and hurt yourself, probably not going to have insurance. The only real money in construction is to be a project manager or estimator (or the owner of a company that provides a service). Most smaller companies are willing to apprentice someone, so maybe talk to the plasterer or siding person and see if they need supervisory assistance. They usually need people to make sure the workers are actually working. May not make much more money, but the liability is decreased.
