Hiya,Im no expert but i looked into sat navs at xmas time and was told that garmin is the best they have a range of pre loaded uk and ireland mapping,streets aswell as major roads.apparantly alot of tom tom dont,the cheaper ones arent so great i think you get what you pay for as far as sat navs are concerned.halfords had a good range.good luck

I recently bought a Garmin 360t after hours of looking at all the alternatives.I got it from PC World and it cost £299.99 and is worth every penny. Mapping is provided down to street level for the whole of Europe. It has loads of other facilities including Bluetooth connection to your mobile, meaning it operates as a hands free phone too.
