Question:

What say you to "Seti...a Haiku" poem?

June 1st, '95...

Sagittarius region...

Radio signal.

Note: Random radio emissions from stars

are intermittant, and highly erratic in wave

lengths.

This was a tight, focused, radio 'signal'

from the Sagittarian Constellation...heard

and recorded by SETI, only once.

  1. Haiku as I have found is a love in poetry for me!

As I was told by a certain someone haiku is

    5-7-5

Hmmm is my count off--because Iam only getting 16 syllables

    June 1st, '95...        ---- 4 syllables

    Sagittarius region...-----7 syllables

    Radio signal.          ------5 syllables

Please correct me if I am wrong or missed something!

    Enjoyed it anyway!!  Cheers !

Thanks Dragon for the correction you are right!

    Thanks MA

Wow so very sorry wasn't  trying to step on any ones toes here--guess I pissed off many people just looking at the thumbs down, and yes I knew it was just the American poetry that was 5-7-5 and thought this was the way you wrote it! And just my wrong count of the syllables, accept my apology please!

jet'aime thanks for your vote of confidence, yes it was just a mistake of counting on my part-I have done it several times on my own haiku poetry!

  2. There are 5 syllables in "June 1st 95. It`s easy to miss a syllable. Don`t sweat it. I gave you a thumbs up.

  3. Hopefully it wasn't when they blew themselves up.

  4. It is Haiku in every sense of the word. I loved your spacial interpretations. I believe this to be "first contact" by a Haiku.

I really love tight focused signals from across the room as well; since you mentioned them.

note: unless someone was being rude why give them a thumbs down over a simple mistake? sad

  5. Maltese its 5

    June-1st-nine-ty-five

I envy anyone who can do a Haiku, I havent tried them out yet but I plan on it. Its a very interesting read and different-Thank you

  6. In '95 while traveling astrally, I sent that message from the Sagittarius constellation.  It originally said "Helloooooo Down there...."  But it got corrupted before it got here when it passed too close to a black hole left by the supernova of the star Helios 12.  Next time, I'll route it differently.

  7. True Hai'ku come from masters and school children in Osaka. Me and Br'er Rabbit, we lay low...

  8. I know this one. That was the 'WOW' transmission they got. Hopefully someday the get a 'OMG, look at this' message.

  9. I don't care what anyone says, whatever their so-called credentials...this, and stuff like this, in no way qualifies as poetry. Wake up, everyone. Anyone can write stuff like this...no talent required. The world has gone mad.

TD...left a comment on your last question then went for a burger. When I came back your question had gone. What happened?

  10. I beg to differ with Maltese Breeder

    line one does have 5

    "ninety" five...ninety has 2 syllables

    ma

  11. Wow, I'm really into this one ... astrology ...

Good afternoon to you!  I just woke up, but am doing some very enjoyable reading.

  12. Is that you, T.D.?

caught a Come'ts trail, you did?

    d**n...Can you unhook?

T.D. has been sited in many locales, berated in a lot and still survives to live another day.  I do not know where he was in 95 though...there might be something to this first contact.
