What says authentic baseball jersey should I get?

My replica Derek Jeter jersey is a large, I'm getting an authentic A-Rod jersey and the sizes are in numbers. I always thought a large was 50 but my parents are telling me that would be huge.

Should it matter what the size is in numbers, and plus I doubt a store will let you try on the jersey that you want to buy, to see if it is big enough for you, before you purchase it, and then risk having to come home, wear it for the first time, and find it is either too small or too big for you.

yeah man a size 50 is a 2XL it would be way to big on you. for a chest size you should get a 42-44 and for your waist a 36-38. remember you can always get your jersey tailored to the perfect size.  : )

Large is a 42-44. A 50 is a XXL, your parents are right!
