What school supplies should I bring on my first day of high school?

Okay so my school didn't send out a school supply list and we don't get our schedule until the first day of school. So I was kind of wondering what I should bring? What's the first day of high school like? Should I just bring a binder with paper and pencils and pens?

Thanks. <3

  1. You do not need to bring anything but a notepad and a pencil and pen on the first day. Teachers hand out lists of what they want you to have. It is a waste of time and money to go shopping ahead of time and stock up on things you do not need. Go shopping right after the first day of school or during the first weekend after school starts.

  2. Definitely bring pens and pencils (some teachers are anal about which you use) paper ( i suggest a spiral notebook easy to keep track of first day notes that way) a folder for the handouts your gonna get (which will probably include a more detailed supply list for each class) highlighters in case there is something important on he handout you need to remember. money for lunch but from personal experience i wouldn't try to buy lunch on the first couple days, usually it takes forever for everyone to get used to the way the line works so you probably wouldn't even be able to sit and eat it. instead find someone you know or meet someone that way when you do go through the line you won't look like a dork trying to find somewhere to sit. and don't be afraid to ask the upperclassmen where stuff is. and if one looks at you weird and keeps walking because they think are to high to answer your questions (trust me there is a wide range of egos in high school) don't assume everyone will act that way most of the people, especially the sophomores who completely understand what your going through. will be more than happy to help you and then you will have an upperclassmen friend which is VERY good. and have fun. high school is so much fun its like middle school but you have so much more freedom. it WILL be the best years of your life. :) good luck!!!

  3. Theme book for each subject, or divided notebook, folder for syllabus, schedule and any paper work you will receive, pens and/or pencils, highlighter and a book bag to carry everything in.

The first day is hectic every one will be learning thier new schedules, where their rooms/lockers are and the best way to get to class.

Try not to stress out there is going to be a lot of new students learning the school and the different activities available.

  4. A binder filled with paper

    A notebook or two

    Pencils

    Erasers

    Highlighters

    Black and blue pens

Don't go crazy, or you'll look like a nerd. The first day is usually just an introduction. They tell you what to bring. Then go hit up the sales or whatever and get what they ask for.

  5. if they didn't send out a school supply list they will probably be giving you one on the first day of school. at my high school every teacher expects you to have different supplies so on the first day all you need is a notebook, a pen, and a pencil. no backpack, bag, nothing except those three things along with a lunch and/or money.

i made the mistake of getting all of my supplies without a list last year (freshmen year) and had to go again after teachers gave me a list my first day. also if you don't bring all of your supplies you will look less like a freshman (which is a good thing) because usually only freshmen bring supplies on the first day, since they actually think you need them.

  6. Your brain (optional), pencil, paper, but if you forget you can always ask yer neighbor..

  7. First: if you know how many classes you have that is how many binders you should probably get, not only do they keep you organized but teachers normally have you get them anyway

Second: talk to upperclassman that you know and ask them about what they needed their freshman year you could also schedule a time to meet with your schools counselor to see what you need, perhaps your schedule, and get a few tips to make the first day easier

Third: get the essentials like paper, pencils, pens, locker supplies, scissors, calculator, and a pencil box/bag

Fourth: To keep yourself on top of things...if your school does not supply an agenda/ calendar buy yourself a little one you can carry from class to class:)

This is my freshman year tooo and I this is what i'm planning on doing...so i hoped this helped!!! just have fun and don't sweat your first day:)

  8. I'm going to be a freshmen also, and I will probably just bring a notebook with a pencil and pen, and my backpack

  9. I think you have the right idea, but make sure you have dividers or folders because you will get an outline of each class and its best to start off organized. You might need markers or something depending on the class.

  10. so u dont seem like a nerd. bring a pack of paper, 1 or 2 notebooks, a pen, a mechanical pencil, and possibly a calculator

  11. don't bring too much cuz you won't do anything on the first day.

oh... and don't forget to bring money for like lunch and lockers...etc.

  12. Im Starting On The 27th Of August This Year And im Just Going To Bring A Couple Of Copies, Pens, Pencils And 1 Or 2 Folders .. Don't Worry About It, It Doesn't Matter If You Dont't Bring Anything. You Won't Be Doing Much On The First Day Anyway .

    Best Of Luck(;

    Luize.

  13. You should bring a bunch of paper and folders/binders pens and pencils money for your lunch and a great attitude. Remember that this is the first impression and thats what the teachers will see whenever they look at you so be really good for the first week or so then slowly become more you....unless being good is you then stay you.
