  1. Made-up science.

  2. The science in the Core is laughable.

Very little of what they portray is at all accurate.

    1) the earth has a magnetic field, not an electromagnetic field.

    2) there are not diamonds the size of Cape Cod in the mantle

    3) giant geodes in the mantle are pretty unlikely too

    4) the collapse of the magnetic field would not cause microwaves to boil the sea - we receive microwaves from space all the time!

    5) mircowaves would certainly not the in a beam.

    6) there isn;t a plate boundary at Hawaii

So I would say there isn;t any science in The Core.

But it pretends to cover plate tectonics, the internal structure of the earth, and the effect of radiation from space.

  3. none whatsoever.

  4. Geology and Nuclear Physics, but not all accurate

  5. fiction science?

  6. fiction science.

  7. As mentioned already there is virtually no science in the movie The Core.  We are able to suspend disbelief for many sci-fi movies but this one was just so far off the mark it was laughable.

They even poke fun at it in the movie calling the stuff the ship was made out of "Unobtanium" (i.e. unobtainable).

  8. you already asked a question about the inconvenient truth, and you had paper and pencil for that, and you know the math for that to...

  9. Did you even watch the movie?  That would really help you do your homework.

The movie dealt with the core of the Earth, so that would be geology.  You could include volcanology and seismology.

It dealt with developing specific materials for tunneling, so that would be engineering and physics.

They used computers, so that would be computer sciences.

They used video display terminals, so that would be physics (specifically electronics).

They used telephones, so that would be telecommunications.

They drove cars, so that would be engineering.

There were scenes where people with pacemakers died, so that would be medical sciences.
