  1. They're going to think we were really stupid someday, when a future generation figures out that's not what it really is at all !

  2. it isnt closed.. it is CLOSING.. but is NOT fully closed

  3. Evidence shows the hole has gotten smaller since we started limiting CFL use.

  4. There is no such data, at least not where we can find it.

There _is_ some data that indicates that the size of that 'hole' varies by season (season = angle of pole to sun).

Maybe the ozone layer is increased by sunlight and/or electrical discharge in the presence of oxygen and conversely decreases in the absence of sunlight and/or electrical discharge in the presence of oxygen.

    Imagine that!

  5. Golly people, read something.

The hole in the ozone closes every single year.  It is a seasonal phenomenon that coincides with a weather pattern referred to as the Polar Vortex.  The hole in the ozone was first discovered in 1957, before CFC's were invented.  It is appears to be caused by the Chlorine that is put into the air by  Mount Erebus, an active volcano in the Antarctic.  The polar vortex weather pattern, which occurs between October and February, tends to keep this chlorine from dissipating, and sends it higher into the atmosphere than it would normally go.

So basically, between March and October of every single year, there is no "hole" in the ozone.

Besides, guess who invented Freon.  Dupont Chemical.

Guess who's patents on Freon expired, allowing many companies in 3rd world contries to make Freon cheap and plentiful.  Dupont Chemical.

Guess who owns the patents on R-22, R134a, and R11, the most widely used substitues for Freon.  Dupont Chemical.

Guess who was the #1 financial backer in passing legislation, promoting research, and banning Freon from use worldwide.  Dupont Chemical.

Anyone else see a pattern here?

  6. That "sky is falling" hysteria has gone out of style. It has been replaced by the global warming hysteria.
