  1. summer, June is nice, tell minisiter you want a shorter ceremony, limit your songs/music. In Birmingham Al, the Botanical Gardens are nice. What time to start ? 5:00PM wedding is nice, espically if the reception is outside. Inside reception ? 6:00PM

  2. The day with the most sunlight is June 20th or 21st - - the summer solstice.  SO, the closer you are to that day the more hours of daylight you will have.

SO if you are in the US, then Summer is the answer.

A ceremony can be 10 minutes to 1 hour, some religions run even longer.  It depends upon the ceremony you choose.

How long between Ceremony and reception is up to you - - and partly dictated by the travel time between the locations.  Up to 1 hour in-between is totally normal.  HOWEVER, if you have it at the same place then the reception - usually the cocktail hour portion - should begin very soon after the ceremony ends.

If you are not going to serve a meal to the guests, do not start your ceremony before 7pm. and be sure to note in the invite "Hors d'ourves reception to follow" - - so everyone is fully aware that dinner will not be served.

  3. Around June 21st has the longest day of the year so that's when you'll have the longest evening.

  4. The first day of summer is always the longest day of the year. I got married on the first day of summer this year on June 21st. I believe that the date varies year to year between the 20th and 21st. Good luck!

  5. Hi and congratulations!

~ The longest day of the year is June 20th, so that will be the longest day for sunlight.

~ The ceremony length depends on YOU and however long you want it!!  If it is a simple ceremony (either church or outdoors), the average length is about 15-20 minutes.

~ If you want the ceremony and reception in the same place then look into country clubs, hotel banquet rooms, gardens, parks, etc.  I know the weather in Ohio is about the same as it is here in Michigan (where I live), so you may want to look at a location such as a country club/golf club, where you can have an indoor/outdoor type of ceremony/reception.  You will want to have an indoor (back-up) just in case of rain anyway.

~ If you totally have something outdoors, such as a park or garden, then you need to look into renting a canopy, tables, chairs, etc.

~ If you are having snacks and desserts, I would suggest to start it about 7:30 or

8 p.m. in order to give your guests time to eat dinner and travel to your wedding.

  6. I'm in NE Ohio too!!  The summer solstice is the longest day of every year.  Next year its June 21 which is a Sunday, but June 20 would be just about a minute shorter.  It depends on how much money you want to spend for your wedding for me to give you a location...we're looking at Todaro's Party Center in Akron in the Valley...you can do ceremony and reception there and its beautiful!!

You can start it whenever you want to...if you wanted an outdoor ceremony I would avoid sunset.  Its pretty, but you don't want your guests (or you!) to be staring at the sun, squinting, when they're trying to pay attention.

    Hope this helps!  Good luck!

  7. Summer, mid july!

  8. The longest day is the summer solstice, which, in the US (and Northern Hemisphere) was June 20th.  If you are looking for season--summer has the longest daylight hours.

The ceremony is as long as you want.  I've had friends whose ceremonies were 20 minutes and others were 90 minutes.  Reception was rather quick after the ceremony (neither of my friends took photos inbetween ceremony and reception).

Both (summer weddings) started are 5-6 p.m.
