It has been confirmed that Grey’s Anatomy will have a fifth season starting sometime this Fall. There is also a possibility that the production of the fifth season could be delayed because of the possibility of a Screen Actors Guild strike.[23] The season is to start on September 25 straight after the third season premiere of Ugly Betty for a two-hour long premiere. OK! magazine reported that Katherine Heigl is still staying on Grey's Anatomy and wants her character Dr. Izzie Stevens to have a brain tumor[24].

Desparate Huosewives:  SEASON 5

As shown in the last minutes of the second half of the two-hour season four finale, season five will take place five years into the future. Due to the time jump, several actors won't be returning to the show. The child actors will not be back (i.e. the Scavo children), and some of the teen actors, Lyndsy Fonseca (Dylan) and Andrea Bowen (Julie), will also not be returning to Wisteria Lane (although their characters may). Shawn Pyfrom (Andrew), however, will be staying on the show, and as shown in the time jump. He is now Bree's assistant[36]. Although Joy Lauren (Danielle) was not shown in the season four finale, she will also be back very soon and not in flashback[37]. James Denton, who plays Mike, told People magazine that he will definitely be returning in season 5. However, "Mike and Susan have definitely split up".[38] Nicollette Sheridan, who plays Edie, has been confirmed to return next season, and will also be bringing with her a new husband, played by Neal McDonough, who is joining the cast of Desperate Housewives as a series regular.[39][40]
