  1. rosemary and sea salt for the potatoes

all the green beans need is sea salt and fresh cracked pepper, for a little more flavor you can cook it with bacon pieces

  2. Garlic and onion can go with both. For the potatoes only, some parsley and tarragon. For the green beans, almond slivers and bacon.

  3. Butter, garlic, salt, and some parsley or other fresh herbs...yum!

  4. Personally, on red potatoes I like to cut them in half or quarters, depending on the size, put them in a crock pot and pour some melted butter over them, sprinkle with dill weed and squeeze the juice of one lemon over them, and salt to taste.  You can do these in the oven too if you like them crispy.

Green beans, well I have a Southern mom and in the south there's only one way to make green beans: Cook them to death, and cook them with salt pork, or if you don't live in the south and can't get that, I use bacon bits (real), some butter and lots of salt. Mmmm...one of my favorites.

If you arn't into southern cooking, you can always cook fresh green beans just till they are tender, then top with butter and slivered or sliced almonds.
