  1. All of Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere, none of Australia is above the equator.

It rarely if ever snows in Sydney but it does sometimes snow in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney.

Our seasons always start on the first of a month.

1st of March is the first day of Autumn

1st of June is the first day of Winter

1st of September is the first day of Spring

1st of December is the first day of Summer

  2. The seasons start on the 1st of the quarter not 21 etc.  However:

21 March is the Autumn Equinox

    21 June is Mid-Winter Solstice

    23 September is Spring Equinox

    22 December is Mid-Summer Soltice

the dates can vary by one or two days depending on the moon's cycle.

    Google for more info.

  3. The seasons are the same in Australia & New Zealand.

    March 1 - Autumn (Fall)

    June 1 - Winter

    September 1 - Spring

    December 1 - Summer

No seasons start on the 21st, 22nd or 23rd. That's just in America.

  4. Australia's seasons do not start at the end of the month they start on the first of the month

    1st  Dec,Jan,Feb is summer

    1st  March,April,May is autumn

1st  June, July, August is winter

    1st  Sept,Oct,Nov is spring

    NZ is the same

  5. North of the tropic of Capricorn you do not have 4 seasons but only wet or dry. The rest of Australia is split into the four seasons as we know it. But it varies in extremities. New Zealand has a some what milder climate especially in the south. But in general we are the opposite to the Northern Hemisphere, so when its spring here its Autumn for you and so on.

  6. Looks like you're getting ready for the fall (autumn) in the Southern Hemisphere, as we here in the Northern Hemisphere get ready for spring.

June will be your winter (summer for us).

September will be your spring (autumn here).

December will be your summer (while we freeze in our winter).

Although most parts of Australia are too close to the equator to have much seasonal differences, I know that Sydney gets some snow in the winter.  And part of Australia IS in the Northern Hemisphere, so the seasons north of the equator will be the same as here in Ohio, though not as extreme temperature differential.

P.S. Sorry, I did not know about the seasons starting on the first of the month outside of the U.S.

  7. Summer is from 1 Dec - 28/29 Feb

Autumn is from 1 March - 31 May

Winter is from 1 June - 31 Aug

Spring is from 1 Sept - 30 Nov

The seasons are the same in Australia and New Zealand
