  1. I think you should concentrate on the area between Kingman, Arizona and Oklahoma City, OK.  While in Kingman you can detour to Las Vegas if you want to have a little fun for a day.

  2. You can see quite a lot of it in a week. Many people will recommend Seligman, AZ to Kingman, AZ and Kingman, AZ to Topock, AZ. And, they're right. However, you can drive that in a day if you don't make a lot of long stops.

My favorites (in no particular order) are:

    1. The Kansas-Oklahoma border (south of Baxter Springs, KS) to Tulsa. Part of this is signed as OK-66.

    2. Tulsa to Oklahoma City via OK-66.

    3. Bellemont, AZ to I-40 exit 167 via Brannigan Park and Parks. (A section of this is dirt road, but it's not long and it's always been in good condition when I drove it).

    4. I-40, exit 139 to Seligman, AZ via Crookton Rd. and Seligman to Kingman. Part of the Seligman to Kingman segment is signed as AZ-66.

    5. Kingman, AZ to Topock, AZ via Oatman. Part of this section goes through the mountains and is winding, so drive slow. However, it's worth it.

  3. Easy enough, I think. You'll want to follow the 40/66 from Amarillo, Texas to Needles, California. Pay particular attention to the miles of the old 66 that split off from the 40 (& eventually return) in western Arizona. You won't be disappointed.

  4. Williams, Az really plays off it's Route 66 location. And from Williams it's a short drive or train ride(my choice) to the Grand Canyon.
