What separates an adult from a child?” as it relates to Our Town.

The following is a list of questions you should keep in mind when you are writing your one page response:

How is conflict a necessary part of becoming an adult?

What part does responsibility play in shaping a child into an adult?

Explore how the young characters appear at the start of the play and examine how they mature. In your opinion, what causes the young characters to mature? What do the young characters learn about life as a result of their struggles and experiences?

thanks a bunch!!!

  1. "Our Town"?

    1. Conflict with what?

    2. Responsibility not only teaches a sense of discipline, but it creates a goal of use for a child to not take things for granted and treat them with care and respect.

    3. Okay I think I can relate to your username now.

  2. Maturity consists of responsibility and reciprocity. Some people never achieve that.

One of my mother's favorite stories ws that if you break the shell of an egg that a chick is pecking out from the inside, the chick will die. He needs the struggle to become strong.

She never adequately explained how I came to have "significant scar tissue on the top of my brain."

The part about "conflict a necessary part of becoming an adult" is fine, except that nobody knows how much conflict is optimal. I have known a lot of adults who were abused as children and it really affected the trajectory of their lives.

  3. i don't know what "Our Town" is...but i'd say that what separates a child from an adult is the ability to be able to process abstract thoughts. it has to do with cognition...but i don't really think this would help out much with your assignment.

basically if you give a child responsibilities, then when they transition into adults, they will most likely be able to handle well..responsibilities.

  4. Experience.

  5. their size, their thinking (adults have been to school and children just started
