What defines you as an individual within your own race or ethnicity? Like what are some things about you that would be considered uncommon for someone of your race/ethnic background, or what sorts of stereotypes and commonalities within your race/ethnic culture do you disagree with?

In other words, what makes you an individual and not a label/stereotype? = )

  1. I'm a mixed race 20 year old girl from England, and because of my skin color and age people expect me to be some sort of hip-hop loving, party-obsessed, promiscuous tart!

When they realize that, actually i'm a heavy metal obsessed, t.v addict and provocative artist(painter), they just don't believe me and they still ask me to go to clubs with them. I, actually despise the hip-hop culture.

  2. being someone of mixed eurasian race, m totally different from other typical Filipinos not only in face but also in body type. i don't possess the typical malay/austronesian & chinese look that common southeast asians or east asians have (read: flat nose, small or chinky eyes, full & big mouth, deep drown skin, jet black hair, small bone frame, less body hair, small round-shaped face). if you see me in person, i really look different, in fact both locals & foreigners whether here in my country or in chat say i don't look full-asian. also filipinos have the typical small asian frame while mine is larger including my foot size & won't fit in asian-sized clothes even the XL ones but i'm not that fat. im having hard time buying some of the stuff here coz of the poor fitting. i can also speak spanish & am conversant on that unlike the majority here who dunno about that language. me & my family also don't believe in all those feng shui & other chinese superstitions that most filipinos follow, we believe more on the 3 magis than santa claus.

  3. Most Mexican derivatives are Catholic-I am a Baptist.I speak English better then Spanish. Most Mexicans have short hair and I have long. Most work right from school-I went into the U.S.A.F. and then went to college.

  4. We are all individually unique.

Race plays no role in what are bs preconceived made up notions about ones lifestyle based on race.

This question itself implies, and perpetuates stereotypical thinking.

  5. I'm a secretary...
