What series of BMW is better,the 5 series or the 7 series?

I am looking foward to getting a Bmw car,I want something that is not small,but will also last.I didnt know if the 5 series were preety big.What would you say is the better car,or are some good cars out of these.I am looking to get a 2005 or up.

7 series is more on luxury. Hence it is considered as a full-size luxury sedan. Engines ranging from 3.0L-7.0L, the 7 series has a bigger engine and more comfortable than the 5 series. The 5 series on the other hand is just a mid-size luxury sedan. Which means it's less luxurious than the 7-series. The engines being offered range only from 2.0L-5.0L, a lot smaller than the 7 series.

Now I'll give you a tip: the bigger engine you have, the more fuel you will consume. And since the prices of fuels today are incredibly high, I suggest you buy the 5 series. Besides, 5 series isn't a bad car at all.

The 5 series BMW's are alot more reliable. 7 series have had alot of engine problems.

lf your going to buy a bmw, it`s a good idea to have a to own another car, 7  series, maintnance more money. love driving my 750il,,but if i didn`t have buick, would have been with out a car. good luck

Better for what?

The 7 Series is considered to be the luxury series, where as the 5 series is more of your 'everyday' BMW.

My personal favourite is a E34 535i, however, this is a much older vehicle than you are looking for, but if I bought a BMW it would be because it appealed to me, not for a status symbol.

Overall, the 7 Series is a bigger car, but it is also a lot more expensive, and uses a lot more fuel.

Personally, I would be going to the dealer and seeing which model suits your needs best. You may find that you can buy a much cheaper car that does everything you want.

A 7 Series BMW, particularly a newer one, will be very expensive for insurance, as well as for upkeep and services, and for repairs, should something go wrong.

I like 5-er's much better than the 7-er's.  7 series are HUGE.  Though the remnants of Chris Bangle still exists in the 5 series, making the new ones hideous.  Roundel Magazine said they're going to release a new one in a few years, you might want to wait till then.
