  1. The larger the store the lower the service.  If I cannot find something I ask a cashier or someone I see who belongs to the supermarket.  Many of the people that are stocking the shelfs are not working for the supermarket, they are working for a distributor, and will not help you.

Now there are a lot of new type of supermarkets that cost more, those you would expect super service.  If not get the heck out of there.

  2. Politeness comes tops for me

  3. None.  I use self-service.

  4. Well stocked shelves, cleanliness and quick checkout.

  5. It probably depends on what you mean by service - I like clean well-laid out displays, clear pricing and a reasonable choice of well-known brands and own-label enabling me to compare prices and decide what to buy. However, I also think that it is helpful to have some staff around the store to help find items and also to reach top and bottom-shelf products because I have mobility problems. A clean WC with  disabled, mother/baby and washing facilities. A coffee shop or restaurant serving light meals is an asset when one has to travel longish distances to a store - it is good to have a break.  Adequate parking and a petrol station on site means that you can consolidate your weekly shopping in one journey.

  6. I would expect to be directed to the correct aisle when asking where something is, the person at the checkout to be polite and helpful (and a smile is nice too), and the people at customer services to deal with questions etc quickly and courteously.

Oh yeah and I want the security guard to stop following me around like I'm going to nick something hehehe.

  7. First of all is customer service, in the checkout line , I want the cashier to concentrate on ringing me out and not talking to others and to be polite, I like a store with wide aisles and carts that don't squeak. It also needs to be clean/

  8. Politeness and efficiency. Nothing worse than a stroppy cow on the checkout who doesn't have a clue as to what she is doing.

  9. I expect goods to be on the shelves, people to know where stuff is if I can't find it, the checkout people not throw stuff at me faster than I can pack, and I don't want a running commentary about each item I've bought.

Is that too much to ask?

  10. A good one like when I shop anywhere.
