  1. Someone who can take your order without s******g it up.

  2. courtesy.  it seems like people have forgotten basic things, like saying "please" and "thank you."

  3. Being polite and happy. I hate going to restaurant and being served by someone you knows doesn't want to be there.

  4. There should always be complimentary iced water and bread on the table without asking.

  5. I SEEEM TO FIND DIRTY SILVERWARE IN MOST RESAURANTS.I THINK THEY NEED TO GET RID OF THE DISHWASHER MACHINE AND ACTUALLY HAVE PEOPLE WASH THEM MANUALLY WITH BLEACH.ALL THEY DO IS PUT THEM IN RACKS AND RUN THEM THROUGH HOT WATER,THAT IS NOT ENOUGH TO KILL VIRUSES SUCH AS HEPATITUS AND H.I.V. THEY NEED BLEACH.

  6. My wife and I are tired of being referred to as "you guys" by most wait staff.

Also, it seems to be standard restaurant practice to attempt to bus your table while you're still eating. It's less than comical to have someone trying to take your plate while you still have a fork in your mouth.

  7. It would be nice if waiters thought of things without being asked.  Like for example, the water and bread on the table.  But even other things like if there is not enough room for plates on the table AND the salt/pepper/flowers etc, that they remove it for you.

It's the small things that make the big difference.

  8. manners and a smile from the wait staff, i think sometimes they can be so rude. People go out to dinner for a nice time not to be insulted with rudness

  9. basically prompt, curtious service. the very basics.

  10. When I ask for something a little bit extra, like a Greek Salad with the olives and fetta on a side plate (my partner doens't like them!) waiters will roll their eyes like it is a big deal.

It would be nice if waiters could understand that a menu is just a guide and small changes are not a big deal!

  11. you know that saying services with a smile you dont see that alot these days

  12. Hospitality. When I walk into a restaurant I would like to be greeted right away and feel that I am welcomed.

A friendly greeting goes a long way.

  13. just common courtesy seems to have gone out the window.  First your person sits you down, brings your ice tea and disppears but forgets to tell your waitress that you are sitting and she's sitting down in the back having a smoke. When she finally gets there and the meal is served, she never comes back around to see if everything is satisfactory or not or if you want a refill on the tea.  She sure is right there with the bill though, those kind do not as far as I'm concerned worth l5% tip.
