  1. Go to a Nursery and see about a shade providing evergreen. You

will not be happy with a tree that sheds its leaves into your pool.

  2. I think I would try a Black Locust. They offer god dappled shade, have tiny leaves, are relatively "clean", and grow fairly rapidly.

  3. Asking at a nursery is your best bet.   Not only do you have to worry about leaf shedding, you also need to be concerned about root growth.  Most deciduous (and even conifers) have a wide root system that if planted within 30 feet of your home or pool will eventually tear up the pool and can destroy your foundation.

Most fruit trees have a smaller root base when mature (but still shed terribly).  Perhaps you might consider something like a blossoming pear or cherry...one that does not produce fruit.

Also remember that it takes many years for most trees to grow large enough to produce adequate shade.

    Good luck
