  1. I know he used to have a Mitsubishi Diamana X83g Tourspec Prototype when he hit the Ignite 460, now that he has switched to the sumo, I think he has a Diamana again, but i dont know the weight of it.  I know he swings an X shaft, and it is a Tourspec Proto like almost all of the tour players.  Look at golfsmith.com for some Mitsu Diamana shafts.  They are expensive, but worth it if you are a good player.

  2. Just take my advice:

HAVING TIGER WOODS SHAFTS IN YOUR CLUBS WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR GAME, YOU WILL NOT PLAY LIKE HIM, HE IS AMAZING.

  3. Holy c**p, what an outstanding answer iDrive!

  4. Great answer. Thanks.

  5. Full specs:  Hopefully these haven't changed much.  This is what he played the beginning of this year.

Driver: Nike SasQuatch Tour 460 8.5 with a Mitsubishi Diamana Whiteboard 83X shaft.

Note: There are three different versions of the Nike SasQuatch Tour 460 on the USGA Conforming Driver List. Every new driver that is USGA approved is on this list. Sometimes different versions of drivers exist because some versions are tour-only; sometimes there is no tour-only version and the different versions are simply refinements of the product. Tiger plays version 2.

    Version 1 | Version 2 |Version 3

3 Wood: Nike Sumo 15.0 with a Mitsubishi Diamana Blueboard 103X shaft.

Irons: Custom Nike forged muscle backs with traditional (weak) lofts. They have Dynamic Gold X-100 shafts that are tipped one-quarter of an inch.

Note: it has been mis-reported by some websites that Tiger plays DG Tours.

    According to a recent interview:

Q: How often would you change your shafts compared to the actual clubs and how important is the shaft for your game?

Woods: That's a very good question. I have played exactly the same se-tup in my irons since I was about 14. X-1s tipped a quarter. I haven't changed in 17 years. Irons have been exactly the same. Driver shaft is obviously different, 43.5 to now a 45-inch graphite, but I haven't changed a thing in my irons.

Wedges: Custom Nike prototype 56* and 60* wedges with Dynamic Gold S400 shafts.

Putter: Custom Scotty Cameron 303 GSS Newport 2 with blacked out Ping "Pingman" grip.

Ball: Custom Nike One Platinum. Tiger's ball is different than the retail version because it has a slightly softer cover.

Grips: Golf Pride Tour Velvet full cord. Standard size.

Q: Who actually makes Tiger's clubs? Aren't they rebranded Miura/Mizuno?

Nike makes Tiger's clubs. They are designed by Nike Golf's design team including Tom Stites.

Where the confusion comes in is that Nike does not own manufacturing facilities for any of their products - they subcontract the work out.

It has been suggested that Miura was producing the forgings since they forged Tiger's clubs when he was sponsored by Titleist. Miura neither confirms nor denies this.

Tiger denied involvement with Miura when directly asked at the 2007 Players Championship press conference (note: it is well known that Titleist used Miura to forge Tiger's clubs when Tiger was a Titleist staffer):
