Question:

What shall I do after my graduation?

I will be finishing university studies very soon, and my parents are pressuring me to get a job. I have to go through the immigration department (that involves a lot of paperwork) to be able to find a job in the country I currently live in. I am also looking for internship opportunities. However, I very much would love to go to Costa Rica and do volunteering. I am very passionate about helping out in a 3rd world country and getting the satisfaction and experience. It is a very rare opportunity and my heart is pointing me in that direction. I recently joined an international volunteering organisation and I got accepted into the Costa Rica project. However, the Costa Rica trip is expensive (about $5300) and if I settle my immigration status I might not be able to go there due to Visa restrictions.

The question is...do I follow my own heart and go for Costa Rica, or get a job?

  1. Sit in a tree, and learn to play the flute!

  2. GO TO COSTA RICA!!!!! Follow your heart and go to Costa Rica especially if you can get sponsorship. You might as well try to go there and then see if your immigration issues get worked out instead of not going and always wishing you did. Going abroad after graduation is a very good idea because more often than not people don't have as many circumstances that hold them back. Also putting that on a resume would be a very good thing! It really shows what type of person you are. Also if you don't end up enjoying Costa Rica you can always fly home and you won't be always thinking what it may have been like or regretting that you didn't go. I hope you have fun and enjoy your life either way!
