between my flight from London and my flight to Jaipur? I will be alone and have no sense of direction so I don't want to go far from the airport shuttle. What shall I see/do/eat/drink whilst I'm waiting?

  1. Sleep.

  2. I would suggest not to go out of the airport . Try shopping in the International terminal . You can shop some handicrafts , booze, perfumes there . They are the cheapest in India.  There are many restaurants in the International terminal where you can have some chilled beer and nice food , get yourself some sleep  also.

If you wanna take  risk, you can go to the gateway of India , but , if it rains never go no where in Mumbai . The roads to/from every where are jammed  in peak hours .

  3. Take a cab to the gateway of India. If you can afford it, the Coffee shop at Taj International is a fabulous place.

Be careful about the traffic. It takes a lot of time to travel in Mumbai, more so in the office hours.

    Have a nice time :)

  4. Try Prince of Wales museum, Jehangir Art Gallery, which are in the same are....in Colaba ...There is a small shopping area as well in colaba & also fashin street....I guess this much should be enough for you in the day or evening time....Try visitng marine drive or juhu beach...

  5. When we went from Udaipur to Mumbai to London we were in Mumbai for about 8 hours and we asked our taxi driver to take us to a nice restaurant and he took us to this great place, I can't remember what it was called but if you ask a taxi driver or someone at the airport i'm sure they'll fin you a good place. You could have a look around the markets there and also at the harbour, though I would advise a guide if going around the harbour. There are shops too.

  6. Dude first of all be careful when in Mumbai especially if you are a foreigner, you can roam around the airport or you can get a taxi.  Make sure you get a decent taxi not a broken down one and a driver who cannot speak english.  Mumbai airport in General sucks

  7. Hi,

After you reach Mumbai, you'll have to spend some time in immigration getting ur bags and customs etc... if you land at a time when there are many other incoming flights then all this could take upto 2  hours! Then again you'll have to check in for the domestic flight at least an hour before the flight time.

So in my opinion you'll hardly get 4 hours to spare.

Traffic and roads in Mumbai are such that visiting to some tourist place will be too time consuming. I suggest you hire a cab , let the driver know that you have just 3 hours to spend and go to a nice restaurent, eat and rest!

If you are a bit of a risk taker you can visit places like Gateway of India

but i would not recommend that :)

  8. the harbour / jehangir art gallery/ gateway of india / taj is 1.5odd hours away - if u dont want to go too far from the airport u could go shopping to linking road (20 mins from the airport). you could go to juhu beach (which is pretty dirty so not worth a visit) (20 mins from airport).

there are multiple restaurants, but not too many sights to see.  if u r in india for the first time and if it is during peak hours, go to a railway station (andheri or vile parle) and just watch how many people get into a local train - it is quite an experience - dont do it urself though!!

pls note that the terminals for international and domestic are 15 / 20 mins apart and the above times are from the domestic terminal.

the domestic terminal is recently doneup and is decent - if u r flying go air or jet or indigo, there is a (30 mins) massage place that is pretty decent - it is after the security point but before the departure gate.
