I'm 30 in a few weeks. I'm spending the actual night woth my partner. But I've invited 5 of my girlie friends out teh Fridya night before. I live in London and I've no idea what to do! I'd like to drink champagne and maybe eat, but I'm not rich enough to go to a super-posh restaurant to do this. Anyone live in London with ideas of where we can go??. Its only 3 weeks away and I'm starting to panic!

  1. You should invite all your friends over for a costume party. and you should all dress up like characters from your favorite 60'sor 70's tv show.

  2. I had about 20 friends round to my London flat for a 1966 party - the year I was born. everyone got dressed in 60's gear and we had a fabulous 60's inspired buffet. It was a complete hoot because 60's gear was not fashionable in 1996 and everyone looked hilarious. So, if you were born in 1978, why don't you have a 70's theme night? Ask your parents what they ate and wore, but expect star jumpers, punk clothes, mullet haircuts and more. It doesn't have to be an expensive night, just use your imagination a bit.

    Good luck and happy birthday!

  3. I went to Langhams Brasserie for my 30th. Not too expensive but a great atmosphere.

  4. If you can be bothered schlepping to Richmond, there is a very cool bar/restaurant called Rock & Rose that is perfect for girly nights out.

The decor is quirky, they make delicious cocktails and the food is good too

  5. Hey this is nikki i don have to live in London to know how to have some fun grab your girls and get some money and then put all of you guys money together than you can go cheap meaning you don't have to by expensive things just because you have the money go to the store and get some champagne, go to a semi classy restaurant that you can afford stand on a bridge and look at the lights in the sky anything you wanna do you can do as long as you feel good about turning 30 go to the movies whatever just go out and have fun with your girls you deserve it girl.

  6. well you can get champagne at most restaurants so look on toptable for restaurants near where you live at a decent price with the type of food you like.

  7. HAVE A PARTY YPU MOR.ON

  8. I know someone who didn't want all the pressure for their 30th; planning a big party and so on.

So, on the same date of each month throughout their 30th year, they went out to do one thing they loved, dinner out with friends, a play one month, a small party the next, visiting a different city etc. etc. I think it's a great idea, I am going to copy it for my 30th year.

For your evening with the girls, how about a glass of champagne of the 5th floor at Harvey Nichols, followed by drinks at the Paxton's head in Knightsbridge? They have a pub menu, and a Thai restraunt upstairs. It's not too expensive.

  9. buy urself a flamingo

    .....very elegant i think

  10. have a party at home.
