I'm thinking of going to Cuba in November for 10 days with my girlfriend. I obviously want to go to Havanah but someone said 10 days there might be a bit too much and suggested Varadero. Can anyone suggest other places in Cuba? places of interest etc? I dont want to just sit on a beach for 10 days!

  1. ITS THE BEST

GO TOO AN ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT ON THE BEACH

EAT AND DRINK ALL YOU WANT

GO TO CAYO LARGO ITS THE BEST

  2. i went to cuba on december and these are some of the places you should go:

El Pedregal, is a beautiful restaurant in la habana, the food is delicious.

Zoroa, is a big pool and many other tourism places in Pinar del rio

Vinales, awesome place con cuevas y mucha naturaleza, in pinar del rio

Marina Hermingway, beautiful place with an enormous pool, but my cousin told me that the food there is not that good, you can still go and try it, you wont regret.

    GOOD LUCK

  3. Everyone has given you great suggestions. However, I'll add some links for you to actually see what things there are to do, attractions, sight-seeing, restaurants, and other activities.

Have an amazing time in Cuba. Trust me, anything you do in Cuba will make your trip memorable and beautiful. And you'll want to go back sooner than you think.

    Buen viaje :-)

  4. Hi. If your staying at Varadero i strongly recommend "Iberostar Varadero" not the other iberostar, i,ve been twice, its only a few years old, absolutely immaculate, the food it unbelievable and every night theres a different show on.Theres always something going off. Also jump into a Coco-cab, its like a three wheeled motorbike built into a sort of large orange Coconut, but open aired a bit like a motorbike helmet. Only ladies drive them and there great fun, or jump in a usual cab and ask them to take you to the flea market in Varadero, completely safe ,no hassle at all, theres a live band wander around the tables at the small coffe bar and there amazing, just drop them a couple of pesos and they bring thier instruments and sing for you..must ask them to do "Commandante Che Guevara" i got them to do it 4 times.Theres always a line of co-co cabs waiting to take you back, cost us 12 pesos for 2 people

Theres lots of stalls and the prices are incredibly low, i bought a cigar humidor with Che Guevara engraved for about 7 English £s. Also for about £70 for 4 people, its a long drag but go to Santa Clara to go into Che,s Mosuleum, you can go within 12" from his remains and see all of his personal items from his Rifle to his Medical coat still with iodene stains and even his "Inhaler" as he was Asthmatic, its an experience you will never forget.

A Microlite Dingy will take off next to the beach for a fly round and you can be taken to the airport, go up in a plane fly over Havana and then strapped to an expert, skydive from 3000ft and land on your Hotel Beach!!!!!. Swimmimg with Dolphins is also something not to be missed.

You can go on a trip for a short ride on a Steam loco through the Sugarcane fields, on the way back you call to see Crocks, and then Speed, and i meen speed, through the Mangroves....probably the most exhilerating thing i,ve ever done and i,ve done 3 of the Disneylands, and 2 Universal studios. Well i could go on all day, if theres anything else no would like to know just drop me a line...have a fantastic time..Brian

  5. i've been to varadero,

    its so good.

beaches + great people + great food + cheap booze + clear sea = great place

    also

havanah is a very eye opening place - the sights are amazing and you could easily spend 7 days there!

    but

    bring a guide book

    x*x

  6. Havana is a fantastic place but I think 2 nights if more than enough, Varadero is a fantastic resort, lots to do and see and beautiful beaches to lay on and chill out, if you like total peace and quiet then the Cayo's may be better for you, they are a true paradise, not much to do but lay back and chill out, Cuba is a fantastic place to go to, wonderful places to see and the Cubans are just the most lovely people I have ever met in my life, so laid back and will do anything to make your holiday even better for you, have a great trip.

  7. I went to Cuba for 2 weeks and loved it, I wasn't bored once! I stayed in Paradisus Rio de Oro in Guardalavaca (Holguin). There was so much to do around the hotel itself ... snorkeling, scuba diving, horse riding, boat trips ... all of these were included in the price of the hotel too. A visit to a cigar factory is a must! I also went swimming with dolphins which was surprisingly cheap. The market in Guardalavaca is also worth a visit. I would take a trip to Havana but wouldn't spend all my time there ... Club Tropicana is amazing, the show they put on is world class. Cuba is very romantic so would be a perfect holiday for you and your girlfriend!

  8. Smoke some great cigars.

You will need maybe 15 days to visit the above places but do as much as you can.

If you have a little break, maybe you can go to Varadero.

    Best for you.

  10. CIGARS!!!!

  11. Last year I went to Holguin and this year we're staying an hour away from Havana in the Varadero area. Last year our hotel was in the middle of knowhere but there were brilliant  outings and day trips which included a jungle safari and loads of excellent snorkling. Visit a cigar factory - the cigars are much cheaper and it's interesting too. To be honest, it's so hot you won't feel like doing much. There is very little public transport and communication is sometimes tricky. If you're staying on the coast there will be loads of watersports. In Havana go to the old fort (it's very interesting but boiling hot too) and make sure you check out Ernest Hemingways gaff. Shopping isn't a leisure activity so there are very few shops and BE WARNED... make sure you take loads of personal care items as it's VERY expensive out there. A bottle of cheap shampoo will set you back £12 and sun cream is £20. Even things like plasters are hard to find and will set you back £10. I've been recommended the Superclub Breezes in Jibacoa which we booked through caribbeancancellations - got a fantastic deal on a Virgin holiday.
