What shall I name myself and my mother? (non-english)?

Well after posting a topic on naming my triplets, I wondered what I'm going to call my self. I don't fell confortable with the english "mom/mum/mam-my" etc having not called my mother that. I call her by her name Mary but I don't want my children to do the same.

So if you could tell me what Mother and Grandmother is in your language I'd be very gratefull.

    for mother:Mama, Mami, Mutter, Mutti

    for grandmother:Oma, Omi


  2. Well, my mom gets called Meemaw....my husband's mother is "yudow" (Arabic).

    In this household, I am glad my kids call me Mom. I'd hate to have 7 kids yelling Omaya and not know if they meant me or the other moms in here!!

  3. Mother in the USA is usually Mom or Ma. We don't go on a first name basis.

    Grandmother goes from everything from Gram or nana

  8. You don't think "mother" is any good either? It's always worked for me.

  9. my girl calls me mommy and calls her grandma "ma".
