What shall i put in a cover letter e-mailing non profit organizations about volunteering?

Im going to ask a number of non profit organisations if i could help by volunteering during the summer. only a few have established volunteer programs so i plan to e-mail and ask if i could take part volunteering. im not sure what to write. i know that it should be short but i dont know what to write. help please!

  1. You say that you want to volunteer, what kinds of activities you are interested in and qualified for, and what days and times of day you are available.

    It would be good to customize each email, to say why you chose that particular organization to write, why you want to volunteer there, etc.

    Be sure everything is spelled correctly.
